Caesar Creek State Park

72

8570 East State Route 73 Waynesville, OH 45068-9719
The park area sits astride the crest of the Cincinnati Arch, a convex tilting of bedrock layers caused by an ancient upheaval • Younger rocks lie both east and west of this crest where some of the oldest rocks in Ohio are exposed • The sedimentary limestones and shales tell of a sea hundreds of millions of years in our past which once covered the state • The park's excellent fossil finds give testimony to the life of this long vanished body of water

Caesar Creek State Park has a beautiful man-made lake that is ideal for boating. I enjoy just taking a drive through the park. Don't forget to stop at the visitor center where they have a nice little museum where you can learn the natural history of the area and find out a little about the early natives and settlers. There is a large area in the park where you can search for fossils (Don't forget to get permission first). All in all, it is a beautiful park to visit.
