What a gorgeous beach and natural area! We went there after the official end of tourist season, so we couldn't get inside the Lighthouse here, but we could...

Nice beach, seemed like a lovely park. It was really offputting that you have to pay to get in. Maybe this is something they do in all Michigan State...

Follow the trail by the dumpsters to walk around the residential area...There's a beautiful beach house back there!

Biking Tawas

The Tawas area is a great place for riding bikes.  We have a paved biking trail that starts at the Tawas Point Lighthouse and travels for 14 miles along Tawas Bay through the towns of East Tawas and Tawas City.  So when you come to the park camping make sure you bring your bike.

Kite Flying - MI

On a windy day, bring your kite and a picnic to one of your favorite parks. There are some very experienced kite flyers out there and they can often be seen at Tawas Point, Grand Haven, and Warren Dunes. Why not join them for a day of old-fashioned fun?

Tawas Point State Park! A peninsula in Lake Huron. Where else can you go in Michigan to view the most amazing sunrises and sunsets in the same park?!

Tawas Point State Park is the best State Park in Michigan! I had my wedding at the lighthouse and all of my guests commented on how beautiful the location was. The staff is always very helpful and extremely nice. I go to the park many times a year and I have never had anything but extremely satisfying experiences.

What a great park! It is super clean, has a lighthouse and a ton of really fun events. We see eagles, fox and even the Monarch butterfly migration last fall!! The water is great on both sides and the kiteboarders put on a show everyday. You just can't ask for more. It will always be our favorite place to camp and play.

We just returned from camping at Tawas Point State Park and it was an absolutely fabulous camping trip! This park is gorgeous with the lighthouse, the sandy beaches and lots of big trees. Tawas Bay is very shallow and you can wade out for a long way without it getting deep which is great for kids. They also have a "dog pond" which was a big plus for us since we have a big spoiled mutt! The staff was very nice and helpful. We will be returning to this park for many years to come.
