The scenery of the park is absolutely beautiful, and there is no shortage of wildlife for sure. The beach is located across a main road from the camping area, and is pretty nice even when very busy. Camping at Hayes State Park is very nice as well, however there is no parking for any visitors that you may invite to your site and you are forced to park at a nearby gas station and escort them in. DNR enforced the parking rule even when there were only two sites occupied of the 80+ located in the back loop which was a bit silly. However, DNR, State Police and Local Police do patrol the area regularly, which keeps the park very safe. As for the restrooms and showers, they were very well kept and always clean. If you are planning on camping at Hayes State Park, please be advised that you should store your food in a locking container and keep trash off of the ground. Raccoons DO visit the campsites at night and are quite handy when it comes to theft :)

easy parking with asphalt pads, restrooms were relatively clean and a good food just outside the parks entrance.
