Here are a few ideas to make your park visit even better.
Geocaching - MI
Like a treasure hunt using GPS, geocaching is fun for all ages. At Sleepy Hollow, geocachers can test their skills with more than 20 challenging caches peppered throughout the park. Hayes, Straits, Fort Wilkins, and Hoeft State Parks all have permanent geocaches within their boundaries.0 likes, 0 dislikes

Ws heading to the park on Sunday to see if our Zerizon jetpack would work there, counted 19 deer grazing in the baseball field next to M124. Counted Several more in the park. Looks like our new Verizon jetpack will work there, at least it worked on Sunday. Looking forward to hosting again this coming season. See you all there.

Ok, no one has mailed their winning "prescription" in to the Park. Check the post below and see if you missed it the first time. We are posting two more numbers: 26 and 132. If those are your numbers, get your "prescription" mailed in here to Hayes State Park. We want to pass out those water bottles!

Welcome to all our "new friends" from the Heart & Vascular Expo that was held in Jackson, MI last Saturday. If you picked up a "prescription" with some yummy dark chocolate on it, turn it over and check out your NUMBER. If you have either of the following numbers: 88 or 234, mail your "prescription" with the winning number on the back to W. J. Hayes State Park, 1220 Wamplers Lake Road, Onsted, MI 49265 with your address written on the back. We will send your water bottle to you in the mail. Or, you can bring your winning number to us at the address above to pick it up in person. If your number didn't show up here, don't throw your "prescription" away just yet. If we don't hear from the above winners by next monday, we'll post new numbers. It was great meeting all of you and we look forward to seeing you in the Park!

Some ice fisherman were at the park this morning and said their adventure onto the ice indicated varying thicknesses; enough for us to remind everyone: a couple days ago there was open water on Wamplers Lake! Please, everyone be safe out there.
