Located between Atlanta and Athens, this popular park features a 1792 log fort built by settlers for protection against Creek and Cherokee Indians. Today, visitors come to Fort Yargo for its wide variety of outdoor recreation and scenery. Mountain bikers and hikers can test their endurance on 18 miles of trails. A 260-acre lake offers a large swimming beach, fishing and boat ramps. The park’s wooded disc golf course is exceptionally challenging.

Excellent park! Lots of options. My Son & I play the disc golf course often. A very nice 18 hole course with lots of challenges.

This is an awesome state park. It has something for the entire family. The mountain bike trails are some of the best maintained we have seen. Nice...

Disc golf, anyone? - GA
Fun for all ages, this sport is similar to regular golf and involves throwing Frisbee-style discs into metal baskets. The object of this game is to play a course from beginning to end, in the fewest number of throws of the disc. Our courses are located at Cloudland Canyon State Park, Fort Yargo State Park, Georgia Veterans State Park, and Richard B. Russell State Park.Like It
