Many parks have equestrian-friendly trails and overnight facilities. Stick to equestrian-designated trails as much as possible, if not just for the obvious reason that the other trails may not suit your steed. Many trails are multi-use, so remember to be respectful of the other users so every one can have an enjoyable experience.
Riding Safety
Make sure you ride with a partner. Even if you trust your horse, a slight spook can ruin a trip quickly. Having a friend and another horse might be able to calm the situation, and at worst lead the scared horse to safety.
