About Us

Helping create your ideal trip to a park is our full-time job. Take a look below to learn who we are, what we do and why ParkVisitor should be your go-to guide for all outdoor needs.

Our Mission

We love parks! Parks are the best place to get out and get active. Or to surf, or hike, or bike, or picnic, or fly a kite, or fish, or play, or take photos, or… well you get the picture. Parks also give you that relaxed and refreshed feeling. You probably have a favorite park already. You probably have friends and family that love parks. But where can you seek and share information about parks from other park lovers and experts? At ParkVisitor of course!

We set out to create the best and most comprehensive online community for park lovers, anywhere. We hope you will participate, because when you do, you strengthen the community for everyone else. It’s sort of a “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” scenario. You share what you know and love about parks, other park lovers will do the same. We’ll add in some expert ratings and opinions, throw in a little social media feedback, and VIOLA!

You will get a score and a pretty comprehensive picture of what a park is all about. That way, if you want to get out and explore, you can be sure to get the best information by checking with us first. Then be sure to check back and tell us how it went.

Behind all these ratings is a really cool, really complicated algorithm that takes your park ratings, the expert ratings, and all the other info we have and creates a simple score for each park. We hope this will make it easier to make decisions about where to go and what to do. How high does your favorite park rank?

Thanks for joining us at ParkVisitor – now get out! (outdoors that is).
